Lion client auth bind 10.6.8 server not responding after successful bind

I got my first Lion clients setting them up for an image when I noticed that even ater a successful bind to my snow leopard server thanks to 10.7.4 it would complete but then stay red after the bind.

I was using the ip address of the OD server to bind. I changed it to the Full Qualified Domain Name server.mydomain.com and it successfully completed and it stayed green. I thought I'd share.

Now if I can just figure out how to keep the directory status on the login window when it turns green I will be happier.
