Ok I (finally) got my redeem code from Apple at 19:38 this evening. 5 hours 15 minutes later- I'm almost 3/4 of the way there. Is this a joke or??

EDIT:

Then there's the installation etc.. I'm gunna be up all night!

Don't fret mate. I've been downloading for the past 2 hours and it's about 75% complete. Here's the kicker: the estimated remaining time goes from 45 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes frequently.

I got lucky I guess. Am temporarily without my broadband internet so, at the suggestion of the Apple website, went into an Apple Store (Soho NYC) to see if they could help.

Initially the Personal Setup person had me logging into the wifi network but that was due to take over 2 hours. Thankfully the guy at the Genius Bar hooked me up to whatever ethernet connection they have there and it was literally the fastest internet I have ever experienced. As crazy as this sounds it was honestly less than 10 minutes to get one from 1GB downloaded on the wifi to 4.3GB for the whole thing.

Pushing 20 hours with my craptacular wireless Internet service. I so miss cable Internet since moving to the boonies :( tempted to just tether from my iPhone or iPad and be done with it.

Got an upgrade from comcast the night before to 40Mbps... the whole process (installation and download) took just under an hour.

It'll be about 45 minutes for me.

Getting a consistent 13 Mb download speed on 35+ Mb cable modem. Usually I see my downlink just about saturated with downloads from Apple, so they're a bit slower today.

Guessing a lot of people decided to wait for Saturday to upgrade...

Luckily, I was at work when I downloaded it where I get 100mbps. Took about 5 minutes.
