iPod touch Smashed screen. unable to unlock. 4th gen

Smashed the screen and now can't unlock. Can see plenty of places n eBay to repair for approx £30. If I send off will I then be able to use as normal once repaired?

Make sure you are getting a Front Glass AND LCD Assembly if you decide to replace the parts yourself. I personally don't recommend trying it yourself via a YouTube video and sending it off to professionals. But best of luck to you!
