I'm interested in what the mouse sounds like. Could someone record the sounds of the mouse clicks etc and post them up somewhere?

Quite the good review. I would really like one, but I can hold out until wireless eventually comes out.

Wow--I've now seen FOUR reviews on web sites, and half a dozen from users in forums... for a product that wasn't even rumored yesterday!

About the ball size--it DOES look small!

But I looked at how I scroll on my big 'ol Intellimouse wheel. Measuring from the point on the wheel where I first contact it, to the point on the wheel where I last contact it. Guess what? It's a tiny distance--about the same as the scroll ball I'd say. So the ball probably wouldn't make me do any extra work.

The wheel has a lot longer region that "sticks out"--but I don't, in practice, start scrolling from the far back/nose. I start in the middle, again and again. And I don't pull it all the way toward me--it's impossible: my finger hits the mouse long before the spot I grabbed reaches the near end.

The ball on the other hand sticks out less--but you'd use ALL of it. Put your finger above it and scroll to below it, and I'm estimating the motion to be very close to that of a scroll wheel. In-person testing of this is called for...

Totally! I'm confident they did their research before and while designing this mouse. I always felt those "ears" on the mouse would eventually become useful buttons, and I'm glad to see they have.

All I can say is that I want one!

Is the ball the size of the red mouse thingy on the IBM laptops?

Yesterday, i had purchased a Mighty Mouse from my local apple store and i have to say that it is wonderful. The ball is just the rigt size. Everything on this mouse works perfectly. This mouse is the best mouse i have ever owned period. Oh yeah, the ball is just a bit smaller than the size of a pea.

Oh yeah, the ball is just a bit smaller than the size of a pea. What about the location of the side buttons - do you have to hold the mouse higher up (towards the front) than you would normally? Does this make the scroll button seem too far back? It almost looks like they designed it for a child with the way they put the side buttons so far forward. I hope they don't bother me if my thumb and finger are sitting on the crack between the side buttons and the back of the mouse :( That being said, I'll know tomorrow when mine arrives...
