Can someone please explain to me how to set up notifications in system preferences? I don't understand when to use "banners" and when to use "alerts and what is the main difference between the two. I have mail and facetime set to use "banners." Is that the best way? Okay I just got an email and it showed up as a banner, but how does it show up as an alert. Bear with this old timer and explain in detail.
