Personally, I use Entropy... but the best free app for decompressing .RAR archives is The Unarchiver (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/22774/the-unarchiver).

Or you could use unrarx and replace the older unrar (executable) 3.60 by the new official 4.20 from rarlab. Works perfectly.

Hi,

I too searched a lot for a RAR program when I switched to a MAC, after testing many apps I decided to stick with BetterZip.
It cost $19.99 but You can also get it from aB@yFull0fPir@te5 :D
But I personally think it is worth the cost :)
