The title says it all how do I go about transphering a DVD to the hard drive on my mac, I know this is possible with a pc but I havent seen anyone do it with a mac so it may be undoable.

*note=do I need to buy something extra like eye tv

*for all you moralists out there Im not gonna copy and redistribute I know this is prob a little illegal but the only reason I want to do it is for trips ext. where using the CD drive burns batteries like mad.

A quick short response to your question; lot of members use Mac the Ripper (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14414) and then HandBrake (http://handbrake.m0k.org/) to compress that resulting large file (that's what I do).

But to get more details, try a search in the specifically relevant section of the forums: Mac OSX applications,
