I just setup mail on my rmbp and am having some issues having to do with duplicate emails. It seems that everytime I write an email from the mail app, it duplicates it once a minute and stores it all in the originall email thread on gmail.com. Mail.app doesn't show any of these duplicate emails, the only way I can see them is if I go online through a browser to gmail.com. Mail.app seems to in general just be messing with my email labels and duplicating things.

Also it seems that every day the folder in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail

is getting larger even though I don't receive or send new emails everyday. Yesterday it was 547.18mb, today it is 577mb. It grew nearly 30mb in one night when I haven't received or sent anything. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

I would really like to use the mail.app because I like how it gives you notifications in notification center when you receive a new email. This is my first time trying to switch to using mail.app, up until now, I have always checked and managed my gmail account through gmail.com on safari.

Disable the storing of drafts on the server in Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox behaviors. Mail is sending drafts to Gmail so they can be used on the web or on other PCs.

The mail library folder growing could be due to new attachments or database files, nothing really to worry about, just use the app and not worry about those things.

Did anyone else noticed that sometimes after startup mail up goes signed out and asks for password.... if you leave it for a while or quit/reopen it is signed in.

I'll try that. I also happened to notice that after a restart my used drive space is recalculated and drops back to what it was originally. It seems like a glitch of some kind in ML. The longer you leave it on without a restart the bigger the error between reported hd space (well flash memory since it is rmbp) and actual. I should also probably mention that it was happening with my istat widget too.

I've never seen that problem before.
