In New York, yes. But fat chance in other states like Pennsylvania or California. They don't give nothing away.

Has anyone confirmed that they will accept the $100 off student discount in addition to the sale price? It states on the coupon "Not valid with any other coupons, offers or discounts."

I was 40 min away from Wilmington, DE today so I went down to get this deal. I got the 13" Macbook Air for $999. The student $100 off does work.

With the purchase, I guess we also get 1000 rewards points, so that's an extra $50 gift card. So I replaced my mid 2009 Air with this one for $949. I feel like this is a great deal. $200 cheaper than Apple's own educational discounted Air.

This really is an excellent deal with the student discount. I'm trying to get my finances together and should be picking up the 13" Air by the end of the week. If you were holding out for a good deal on the Air, I suggest you jump on this one.

Excellent! Did you have to do anything other than just let them know you had the coupon or have anything overridden by a manager?

Nope it doesn't cause any problems at all. I just went up to the cashier and it scans fine. No mess, no managers.

Great deal. I was planning on waiting for a 13" Retina, but this deal made me go for it right away. Thanks to OP again.

but u can't get 8GB...

I'm really having a tough time deciding between the base 13.3" MBA and the base 13.3" MBP because of the ram. At least the ram can be upgraded on the MBP to 16gb pretty cost effectively by the user later. The hard drive being upgradable is also nice so you can switch to an SSD later and not be stuck with a 128gb.

I can't justify spending more than the base models at this time and with this deal it's a good time to decide and buy.

No. Just go to the one of the links above and put in your edu address. It will email you a printable coupon. This deal is simple.

13" MBP is also on sale, for same price. But that thing is ugly and the display really sets it back.

I just got back from Best Buy because me and some others were having some questions. The student 100 dollar off coupon can be used on top of the sale of the airs and any other mac product, even last years models if they are in stock.

The sale ends this saturday because new deals start every sunday.

They are also offering 18 month no interest on a Best Buy card if you buy one.

Hi everybody,

I wanted to tell you guys that I got the MBA earlier tonight thanks to the info in this thread. When I got to the store, the price on display was regular $1,199 so I went to the online store ordering section they have and asked them if I could buy it right away at the sale price and everything went without problems..... off corse I use the $100 coupon:)

One thing though, my Mac came with OS 10.7.4.... I just finished updating it.

This is my first Mac, and so far I'm loving it! :apple:

Thanks to the OP for the heads up on the sale and the other person on the edu discount. Sweet deal for sure.

I am very tempted to update my 15" MBP. Though, I like the extra 2" of screen real estate, which is important when I'm working on the road. Would be nice to gain the SSD speeds and the lighter weight.

Wait for the 13" rMBA? Or eventually the 15" rMBA? Decisions, decisions. I guess I have until Saturday to make a move.

Just went to Best Buy and bought it. I had the worst experience ever. First of all, I asked for the 13" based model, but they gave me the 256GB version. Then the guy went back and took out another one. He scanned it and asked me to pay, then I found out it was the 11" model. So I asked them to exchange. And he got pissed and, luckily, the manager came out and exchanged the right one for me. It took me a whole hour to buy this one. What a nightmare. I will never buy stuffs from BestBuy again (particularly not the one in San Francisco!)

Can't blame you on hating Best Buy, but I was surprised of this deal. Usually, Best Buy doesn't have great deals.

But yeah, my Best Buy employee was kinda dumb as well. Asked me why I wanted to buy this. I was thinking why he's asking me this because I'm ready to give them my money.

I couldn't agree more. The only thing I've purchased there in the past 5 years is a pair of ink'd earbuds because I was given a giftcard. Amazon has everything for less, and less hassle. The air is obviously an exception, and had I not purchased I would have saved myself $170 by getting it here and opting out of the 8gb ram model.

I bought mine tonight. I decided on the MBA, but I was really torn between that and the MBP.

I was also able to get a $20 bill credit since I bought it with my Amex. They have a promo that you can sync your twitter, and receive a $20 bill credit when you spend $200 or more on your Amex for tweeting something with a hashtag they specify.

Would best buy be able to apply the student discount in store without a printed coupon?

I used the coupon last night. When I click on the link in the original email it takes me to them. If I were you I'd call Best Buy Customer Service if they don't show up.

I doubt that they'd be able to do anything for you in the store since the coupons are unique to each persons email. Maybe they could resend it to you, but I don't know.

Good luck!

Doesn't have to be a college address? Anything edu works?

I was under the impression it was a discount for college students. I'm probably confusing it with Apple's, which had a discount for high school employees but not students.

$999 for a brand new current gen is not too shabby either. I am enjoying my new Air. Its a big upgrade to my 2009 Air and a lot cheaper too. Good timing since my 2009 Air died 2 weeks ago. Apple wanted $300 to send it out to repair center, the geniuses couldnt figure it out. Good buy.

And to the person that ask if any edu email works. Yes it does. Used my med school email.

1045 or so, since they were taking 5% off the 1099 price. I don't know where the other best buy got the price of 939 but hey, I'll take it in a heartbeat with $100 off pricematched. If they give me trouble, I'll drive farther to the one with the 939 original price and see what they can do for me.

I called a few different best buys until 1 said they had it at 939. I thought I heard him wrong but he was positive. I doublechecked and assured with him that it was the new 2012 one. The thing is, that store is about 45 minutes away, so I called the closer store to see if they would pricematch. They said they would, contacted the other store, and saved the pricematch price. Then they said it won't be ready until tomorrow, when I thought the sale was going to be over but maybe not?, so I got over it and drove 45 minutes to the far store to buy it. Turns out it was a 2011 one. I was really stressed and mad and called the store that was gonna give it to me tomorrow and explained, and they said they would honor it still. They let me pay for it last night and pick it up today, I'm posting this on it right now. It's awesome, one miniscule scratch on the bottom that doesn't bug me one bit. The only issue I have is that the trackpad is a little clicky sounding. I don't remember my old macbook air being like this (2011 one). Is this a common thing, or something to take it in to the apple store for?
