I've set up a site on my iDisk but I was wondering if I could use the Apache thingy to host something from my iBook. I know the network can access it from http://<local ip addy>/~shortusername and the internet should be able to from http://<ip>/~shortusername but my problem is I'm on an Airport LAN with a modem/router connected to the base station so when I go to a site to find out my IP, it shows me the IP of my Netgear router, which obviously doesn't have my ~shortusername directory on it. Is there any way I can host the site off my computer while on a LAN? If I find some way of finding my computer's individual IP address (pray tell how), can I then host a site from my comp?

You could probably only host the website off your iBook if you have a static IP (never changes). If you want it to be accessible from the Internet, you will need to set up port 80 on your router to forward incoming requests to your ip.
