A recent study showed that men who masturbated 5x a week were least likely to develop prostate cancer than men who didn't.

You know what this means?

No more bit*hing about it. :D

Sweeeeeeeeet. :D

On a non-facetious note, it isn't that surprising. There has been research for some time, that suggests that sexual activity reduces the risk of prostate cancer in men, hasn't there?

Hm.. if DIY reduces it, just imagine how healthy those who don't have to DIY but can practise their muscle with somebody else, are? ;)

Son: Taking care of my prostate.

BTW: This should go in "Other news", not "Community".

I know, it doesn't matter, anyway, MR male members will joke about this and will talk how healthy we'll be.

MR Members above 40 remember their teenage and will say: "Uff! Great" :p

Kegel exercises--- strengthen your PC muscles= easier to give birth, maximize your bladder control (sort of preventitive), but most importantly-- to improve your orgasms.

So, just to get this straight, you're saying I won't go blind?

Definitely not. It is a serious subject that is hard to discuss in public. Should discuss this with a physician that you feel comfortable.

As for going blind, there have been studies that some men on Viagra have gone blind. They are not sure if it was the medication or the narrowing and plaque in arteries that caused the impotence.

Me too :). I hope you don't mind if I use that skunk!

As for this study there has been quite a few corroborating it so that's great news. No blindness, no hairy palms, no increased cancer. It's a good healthy thing to do. Blowing out the old dead ones also helps keeping them clean, fresh, and healthy and therefore increases the fertility levels if you're trying to conceive :).

re: Prostate cancer it is thought by some researchers that if nothing else gets us guys the prostate will in the end. Unless we come up with a cure for prostate cancer it's going to be the limiting factor in our longevity :(.

Kegel exercises--- strengthen your PC muscles= easier to give birth, maximize your bladder control (sort of preventitive), but most importantly-- to improve your orgasms.

I think you need to change that to "improves everyones' orgasms" 'cause it ain't just the chics that reap the benefits of Kegels.

I've known girls that, well, like an iron fist in a velvet glove...
[/fond memories]

Ahem. 'cuse me, I have to take care of my prostate now.

Imagine the commercial for this:

Shots of just the faces of a teenager, a 30 something, a 50 something, and a 70 year old without his dentures. All sort of straining, looking flushed. Then the last face you see is the oldest guy, just grinning.

Then black screen that says:

Give your prostate a helping hand.

This is just stupid. It's like making an excuse to masturbate...who the **** needs one. There are still people who believe that masturbation is not only "dirty" but downright "bad for you." Hopefully, more studies like this can help to show that it is a normal occurence and can even be beneficial.
