This is not currently possible as the Airport express will not take the audio in.

I think the OP means wirelessly send the audio.

i think i saw a mention of this for the upcoming OS update, don't remember where though, and only saw it once.

I think you're thinking the new AirPlay mirroring feature in mountain lion. Don't think that applies to this particular issue though.

nope, i'm thinking of being able to airplay audio from an aTV.
think it might have been someone with access to a beta, and they found it burred in a menu somewhere.

like i said i think i read it, don't remember where, and i've tried searching, but come up with way too many hits that aren't what i'm looking for.

Even if it did work, the lipsync would be so bad that you wouldn't use it.

have you played video on an iOS device, and sent the audio via airplay?
it's pretty spot on.

I used to put netflix on the ipad, and send the audio to the airplay speakers in my kitchen all the time.
