I'm doing a lab for school and we had subjects drink 500mL of water, and 500 mL of hypertonic salt solution and 500mL isotonic salt solution.
We then measured the pH of the resulting urine and found that the water subjects had the HIGHEST pH (most basic) while the isotonic had the LOWEST pH, with hypertonic somewhere in the middle.
Can somebody explain to me the affect of salt on the urine pH?
