I am using the trial version of Corona SDK, and when I click Build for iOS, it asks for a Code Signing Identity. In gray, it says "Choose from the following" but there isn't anything else.

Do you have to upgrade to Pro to transfer an app you made to your personal iPhone?

P.S. I am new to this, so bare with me. :P

This sounds like it can't find your signing identity - nothing to do with Corona SDK. You need to generate a development certificate and a provisioning profile.

See: Provisioning a Device for Development (http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/Xcode/Conceptual/ios_development_workflow/10-Configuring_Development_and_Distribution_Assets/identities_and_devices.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40007959-CH4-SW7)

Do I have to be a registered developer from Apple? Like paying the $99 a year or whatever the price is?

If you wish to either publish an app to the app store or test it on your own device, then yes.

I am not sure what Corona's requirements are though, you may want to contact them on that part of it.
