You can absolutely remove those applications if you want. But they're not what you'd call huge, so you're not going to recover much drive space-- and you never know when you'll need one of those apps after all. No one likes reinstalling a whole OS just to get Safari back... So while you can do this, perfectly safely, it may be better to simply ignore them.

Uh, do at least run a program before you delete it, you never know what you might be missing. Tho Sherlock sucks.

For the record, you'll probably be able to reinstall them using Pacifist (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12743), so you won't have to completely reinstall the OS. :)
