I know it's not really an Apple product but I know a few people on here use the Lacie drives. I got mine when Tiger came out (so still in warranty) and it was working ok. Its a 120gb btw. Now it buzzes really loudly, and it is really annoying and can often be heard over my stereo if I have the music low (like for when going sleep). Is this normal? The buzzing actually hurts sometimes , gives ya a headache.
Does yours buzz???

No, it shouldn't. Get thee to a warranty claim. Make sure you send in both the power supply and the drive.

Can you tell if it is the drive buzzing, or a cooling fan.
Sometimes if it is just a fan, you can give them a little 'tap' and the buzzing goes away. Bearings get a little loose after a while.

That doesn't sound good no matter what. Better take that thing in for warranty! It wouldn't surprise me if that thing had a Maxtor HD in it, I hate those things and have had, and heard of from others, nothing but trouble with them. At any rate, good luck in getting it fixed, I hope it turns out okay for ya!

Since it is under warranty, get it checked out!
I have a 250 LaCie with no problems
