View Full Version : FS/Feeler: PowerBook G4

I've got a 15" PowerBook that I bought in January 2004 brand new from the Walden Apple Retail store, I recently bought a 12" PowerBook from a friend so I figure it's time to unload this great machine:
Specs:
1.25ghz G4
15" Screen
Aluminum Casing
Superdrive
512mb RAM
80GB 4800(don't quote me on that)RPM HD
Bluetooth (1)
Airport Extreme
AppleCare until December '06 or January '07 (I don't remember, but I can check)
This machine retailed for around $2765 brand new with extras from the store and has been used and still runs great, comes with original box, manuals and a fresh install of Panther (on the software restore discs).
To be real I'd like to get around $1200-$1350 but if that's too high I'll take offers. I have 100% positive feedback under digitialnirvana, I've also dealt with others on this forum such as doucy2, and fender83.
EDITED - Price.

You shouldn't joke like that. Someone might see that quick and think mxlews really meets your description and not deal with him. I know I would be mad if someone did that to me!

Edited the price, cuz $2000 was waay too high, PayPal only - also edited comment about mxlews.

If no interest by the end of today, I will have to put this on eBay and I'd rather sell it here.

Dangit, had I not just won an auction for a 1-week old new model 14" ibook ($1000!!!), I'd be all over this.
If this is around next week after I get the ibook, I may be interested depending on if the ibook cuts it or not.

Are you able to post pictures? What sort of shape is it in... any significant scuff marks or scratches? How is the display... any marks or white spots?
Thanks!

man $1155 is a rip off for you larry. i wouldn't accept less than $1500 for mine. ;)
but i have 1GB of RAM, but still. the only thing the newer models of the 15" offer over yours is a about 400MHZ (for top of the line), and that, my friend, isn't a worth another $800. Don't settle for $1155. My friend just paid $2000 for a new 15" with the same GPU, an extra 250MhZ (which i can't tell at all), and the new trackpad (which works on your model if you use the terminal hack to enable it or install tiger).
Of course, i think all the powerbooks are overpriced for what you get in terms of power, and i think only a fool would buy a new powerbook now outside of the 12" maybe.

You either misplaced the decimal there or you aren't offering 1155.00 plus.
Let's try this:
Look at where the duck's mouth is pointing!!!
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING IS CORRECT?
A. 12 > 1155
B. 12 < 1155
C. 12 = 1155
D. Microsoft is a decent company.
The correct answer is indeed B

Juat curious - why are you selling so cheap when you could get way more on Ebay? I recently sold a 2-yr-old 867MHz 12" PB there. It took less than 3 hours for someone to buy at the "Buy It Now" price of $800 shipped and insured.

Jack, as you know at the time I couldn't sell it to you due to family issues - you seem to have forgotten that, besides you bought yourself a new Mac after that anyways.
I don't mind you telling people about me not selling it to you, but PLEASE Jack include the full story ;).

Ok, just want to straighten things out. This was a problem in the first place, because his Mom wouldn't let him sell, right at the last minute. I am NOT trying to muck up this sale, I just want to let the buyer know something that happened last time. I know its very unlikely to happen again, but if I was buying something for $1300, I'd want to know what had, and could again happen.
I think larry is a nice guy, and a genuine seller, and I am not trying to trash his sale here, just alert prospective buyers. I hope that makes it all a bit clearer.

I remember it this way - amacgenius was selling his PowerBook, and as the money was about to be transferred he rushedly told XIII that the sale was not on anymore and there was no explanation.
I also remember there being a dead pixel on the PowerBook ... has that disappeared?

NON PAYING BUYER.
It's been two weeks and I haven't seen the buyer on iChat and he hasn't responded to my emails so I'm taking offers again, him and I agreed on $1300 shipped so I'll take that or higher.
