My primary computer is a 2005 iMac G5 (iSight) running 10.5.8. Over the past few years, my array of small-to-medium-sized external hard drives has grown and is now getting difficult to manage. I'd like to consolidate their contents onto a single 3TB external drive and then clone that to another 3TB drive for backup. If I buy a Seagate 3TB external, will I be able to reformat it on my iMac and make use of the full 3TB capacity? Or do you think my old computer will have difficulty recognizing a 3TB drive? Here's the drive I'm considering:

Thanks for your help!

It'll work. You just have to format it with GUID instead of APM to use all of it. And because of that, it won't be bootable with a PowerPC Mac, but it'll work for data storage just fine.

Thanks for the reply. Data storage is all I really need. Looks like this will do the trick! Thank you!
