duh, look at the interface on that thing. Most people can't even get their VCR's to stop flashing 12:00, did they really think people could figure that thing out?

Those buttons probably aren't that bad in person... they do look confusing in that photo though. (The screen itself is iPod-like at first glance. Navigation is another matter...)

...Unless you're trying to use them when it's in your pocket.

Fortunately, this was solved by my early transition to DVDs.

A friend has one of those, and it's huge compared to the iPod Mini, and the next size up is like putting Russia next to Wales

My sister have the player the guy in the picture is holding.

Reasonably sized and seemed OK. Interface was HELL to use for me. Not because it was illogical or the menus were bad or anything. It was because the control thingy was so sensitive (which was turned down to the least sensitive setting) that I had no practical control of where it went, or what I was choosing. I was just moving my finger and the thing went all over the place.
My sister says she had the same problem in beginning, but she got over it eventually..

Also, while I don't have a iPod myself, I kind of (discreetly) advised her to get an iPod Mini, but she needed a Radio. It's the same reason why I didn't get an iPod.

You hear that Apple? That's another customer lost be cause you don't put in a freakin' radio.

And, since I *don't* want a radio, it was nice of Apple not to have put one in there that I'd have to pay for. Meanwhile, you nice folks should have a look at this:

Norway still has radio stations worth listening to? I'm jealous

Somehow the ones who made my MP3 player (not Creative) managed to make a player that's technically equal to the iPod, but also included a Radio, and sold at the same price! Teh MYSTARY!

Anyway, that thing you linked to, while nifty, isn't for sale yet, and certainly wasn't for sale when she bought her player, or I bought mine.

Actually that's sort of be ironic. There are some radio stations that use iPod's to play music. True story.

Heh :p Most is trash, but there's a few nice ones.

Not saying that Radio is any critical part of the player, but when two (or more) is about equal technically and have the same price, but one of them comes with a radio and the other one doesn't, I'd go with the one with a radio.

That's... interesting

You could have gotten an FMXtra. They're only like $20. But I thought the point of things like the iPod was to get away from radio. Nice for some people I guess, but I'd rather have things like this be external. That way you get something that does what it's supposed to do well, rather than something clunky with a ton of features.

I had a hardy laugh when I read this.Creative is, however, not conceding defeat yet in the MP3 wars, having unveiled plans to start selling soon the Zen Vision, a portable digital music player that can also store photos and videos.Could they plan to die any faster?

I think they know they're beat and are trying to get in enough debt to file for bankrupsy so they don't have to payback all the money they lost on their investment. :D
