Continued good news for Apple. Now if this can translate to increased business and private sales in the future That would be something if the UK were to break the 5% mark before the US.

Good news it seems, but as to 5% before the USA, give us your prices and we'd romp home. I know quite a few folks who go "cheap as Dell", because they perceive Apple as being too highly priced (UK), especially when they see the .com website prices
Don't know what the market growth rate was in this sector though, and whether there is a halo effect here, but 8.2% to 11% is at least upward.

Still?
NZ prices are now cheaper than US prices for most products :D (note that the US prices do not include tax)

Most people don't realise the whole sales tax situation in the US though, which means that most people will pay a 3-8% premium on top of that sticker price in sales tax, dependent upon which state they live in.
Equally, once you remove our lovely 17.5% VAT from the equation, that actual price is almost exactly the same as the US sticker price. Example:
Mighty Mouse
Current UK Store price - £35 (translates to $63.31)
Current US Store price - $49
Current UK Store price without VAT - £30.63 (translates to $55.39)
So in real terms, though it might appear that we're paying nearly $15 more for a Mighty Mouse, we're actually paying about $6 over the sticker price. Sales tax in many states will make this difference much lower.
It's our system of taxation that makes these price differences, not Apple.
