Would the overall size of the MBA or rMBP really be compromised if Apple enabled it to have removable RAM so you can upgrade?

I would say yes because if the dimensions are increased even in the small space that the RAM actually takes up it will still effect the dimensions of the entire laptop because that one small space has to be accounted for. In other words it would be curved if it was not compromised.

I hope that makes some sense at least, having a little trouble wording what I am thinking of.

I think it could have been done on the Retina without too much trouble, and *maybe* the 13" Air, but not the 11".

One hopes, by the time u need a ram upgrade, the cpu is already obsolete and time for a brand new box.
