I've been looking for some clear instructions on how to do this and haven't found anything. I'm still getting messages that don't pop up on messages my mac, so how do I send and receive everything from my apple ID?

ignore my last reply if you read it.

You need to update to OSX 10.8.2 then when you have done that open iMessage and you will be prompted to Unify your Number and ID.

you cant with the number you must send and receive messages from you Apple ID to be sync'd across platforms.

Example your friend with iPhone/iPad must send an iMessage to your ####@me.com address and not your phone number. Make sure your iMessage settings are set up to receive at your ####@me.com address.

That applies only to pre iOS6 devices.

Try turning imessage off on your phone and then back on.
