Lots of people are having all sorts of issues with the ios6 with different idevices.
All i asked was for more information ?
Does installing iOS 6 on iPod touch require a restore? What more information do you need?
Just plug in the cable and let iTunes do the work. I didn't have to do anything else except wait and everything is as it was.
On the iPhone 4 there was a cellular update too.

Do a back up
Just hook it up to itunes and follow the step by step instructions.
