iPod how come shuffle plays in the exact same order in random mode

hi, i got my shuffle yesterday, put 120 songs on it and was just using it today. I put it in shuffle cause i don't care what order i play the 120 songs in. I use it for an hour and i remember the songs that played. i turned it off for an hour or so then i go backk to using it put it in random/shuffle mode and it plays the exact same songs that it shuffled all over again. Is it suppose to do that cause that sucks cause i dont want to listen to the same 20 songs over and over again, i know i can hit the forward button but still i thought it would at least always randomize it.
