That is just a PC that has been cracked to run OS X... read the Rumors page andyou would have known about that going around

I really wish Apple would call eBay and let them leave that up, so Apple Legal could actually make an attempt to get a winning bid.

What better way to prove somebody is pirating a product, than to get a pirated copy sent to your lawyers office and/or a law enforcement office.

If you are selling any pirated Apple software, sending a copy to Apple Computer c/o Steve Jobs -- is a really bad idea. :p

Yeah...agreed. :(

Aside: that case...I can't decide if it's ugly or pretty. Part of me thinks it looks like a little refrigerator! :o

Oh I know very well what all has been going on, I've been following it all very closely - just found this latest item and thought I'd post it, that's all.

Awesome, I love it! Yeah, that would be great. Well, this is only going to be the start of such incidents. As I said in the other Main Page thread, I sure hope Apple knows what it's getting itself into with this movie to Intel. Reagrdless, I'm excited to follow along as things unravel - er, develop. ;)

If that really includes a copy of OS X for Intel, that I wouldn't expect it to stay up for long.

Still like the case though, would make a good home theatre component.

Anyone know what type of case that is? Haven't seen one like it before...

How has this thing lasted for 5 days? The auction is almost over!

Someone should point that out to Apple and then they could do what they want with either the auction or the user windows2003r2.

PIRACY@APPLE.COM

Same place you send reports of any other eBay items like pirated versions of FCP etc.

One would think that by now, with the auction being up for 5 days, that Apple Legal is well aware of this item. Perhaps this is a "publicity stunt" of sorts and Apple is the one who actually started the auction in the first place! ;)

Whoa, thought you were vniow for a second there... this has happened to me a couple times now... ;)

I would send in a report, but as I said, I'm sure Apple is well aware of this auction by now...

Anyone know what type of case that is? Haven't seen one like it before...I was going to ask that myself. I really like the case design. If it has the right features and is easy to work with I might use it for my next build, provided I can find out what model case it is. Anyone?

The case is ugly, very PC like. Funny that it mentions being faster that a G4. Think that I would prefer a G5. Would wonder just how well it would operate.

I to like the look/design of the case. It would be a bit more believable in my view if the pic was not some website/company image.

:)Thanks, I didn't think to check the image source. Seems to be a pretty nice case definitely an option for my next build, I like Antec. If I go for the smooth and simple look I may get this one. It may not be a PM G5 case, but this case is about as unassuming as PC cases get. My next machine will be a real @$$-beater so part of me is tempted get something gaudy with windows and lights, etc... just to satisfy the 1337 gamer in me. :D

Excellent, thanks! Reading through the specs, it seems like one heavy duty case. No power supply included though...

Only 30 minutes left to buy it, hurry up people! :p ;)

You're kidding me?! Yikes...I kid you not. Although I should point out it would be for the purpose of performing an autopsy, and not to flood the ebay market with fillings and other bits and pieces of memorabilia...

Every six months or so at least one of the newspapers carries a similar story that they're going to perform an autopsy, or that some new piece of evidence has come forward to prove that the Royal Family/British Government/Microsoft arranged to have her done away with for some reason or another. And each time the story comes to nothing. August is traditionally silly season in the British press.

Anyway, I'll hand you back over to the advertised-topic. ;)

Does this mean I'm not going to get my Mactel? :( *pouts*

I just...I need something to make up for the dozen Powerbooks that flew off my balcony last month. I thought this would be the thing that would fill that hole in my heart. *sob*

:p  :D

It's too bad that Antec company does not make a cute polished steel case in Mac Mini size... *sigh*

It doesn't seem that the company has any right to sell those PCs woth OSX.4

I'm planning on selling Mactels to my customers, but it won't be pirated (they'll still have full Tiger licences bought from Apple, just with x86 disks). If anyone has any ideas on the legals of this, please PM me

Part of the questions everyone has is whether that will be possible. Everyone now is assuming that Apple will release OSX only to be able ot run on AppleMac brand computers, so you still may not be able to do this without breaking the user liscence (even if you have a full purchased copy for every one)....

but who knows, Apple could throw one of a hundred curveballs...

The license says you have to run it on Apple hardware. The only question, then, is whether your local jurisdiction enforces license agreements. Apparently most don't. Legalities aside, you agree to the license agreement, and what you are proposing is that you "agree" to something with no intention of honoring that agreement... which is a pretty karma-bruising way to live.

:D :D :D At least they had a good sense of humour.

I saw another system on ebay, going for £100 that claimed to be able to run Mac OSX nativly. Was a celeron something or other, bog standard spec - however it said that you had to provide OSX Dev Edition yourself..... If its a PC, without an OS, wouldnt that just make it a "PC" then not a "mactel"... lol

Seems people are on a roll with the 'Pentium4 in Mac Dev boxs' lots of excuses for ebay auctions going "OMFG AWSOME 1337R MACINTEL 4 SALE" and even the dev comments about its speed seem to be leaking through ^look at the quote^ "OMFG0R!! /\/\y P4 3Ghz ()wn0rz ur Dual 2.7 G5 hahah!¬!!".
