hey,

so i was wondering if there's any other katie melua fans out there? i just discovered her yesterday (was itunes recommended) and downloaded her album 'call of the search' and it's great..!

i'm surprised o say that i actually prefer her style of music more than norah jones -- and for the first time in a while i can't actually say i have any favourite songs..because they're all good..

oh, and uk people - there's a katie melua 'outdoor evening' this saturday: http://www.picnicconcerts.com/artist_detail_kenwood.asp?ev=72

anyway, just wanted to see if there's any other katie melua fans at MR. :)

I've never heard of her. But maybe I will like her. What song(s) do you recommend?

Crawling up the Hill is great [http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=14147464&selectedItemId=14147442], and so is Lilac Wine [http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=14147464&selectedItemId=14147462]

generally the whole album is good - try the previews on iTMS.

I've never heard of her either but she sounds interesting. I'm gonna give her a try. Although the best cover of 'Lilac Wine' will always be Jeff Buckleys'. ;)

I've heard of her but am slightly ambivalent about her music. I really have to be in the right mood - a little like I have to be for Norah Jones or Madeleine Peyroux.

She's pretty cute, but her music is too sophomoric for my tastes. Still for that type of music, I still prefer Diana Krall and Norah Jones.
