I bought a 1st Gen iPod on eBay about 3 months ago. I already have a 3rd Gen and a shuffle. I'm not even planning on using the 1st Gen, but I wanted to buy it for keepsakes. I think if I hold onto it for 20 years or so, that it will become a true collectible. Not that I ever plan on selling it...hopefully. Am I crazy for thinking this? My friends think I'm crazy but I think it's a great investment. Oh, I bought it for about $130 or so. Any thoughts? It's in good condition and still works although the wheel is a little loose. Thanks

20 years from now who knows, someone could give you top dollar for it. I saw "antique" sony cassette tapes going for some pretty good cash.

I love my 1st gen, been using it since 2001. I don't know of any particular use for it yours currently, although $130 for it?? Hmmm, better hope the value appreciates.
