I'm considering upgrading my wireless base station (original Airport) so that I can make use of 802.11g. I need at least one ethernet port and good range (I'm trying to blanket the duplex where I live to include both units, but most likely the other unit wont get the "extreme" speed). The Airport station is almost two hundred dollars, but the Linksys is around eighty. I can't figure out why the Airport is so much more.

Can anybody help me out with my decision?

Get the Linksys, it's all you need. The AirPort doesn't offer much over the Linksys other than a cool form factor and an easier set up method (but not by much) AFAIK. 🙂

Thanks, I just couldn't find what was so much better about the Airport. Apparently there isn't anything. I'll go with the Linksys.
