I am a huge fan of 80's-90's retro industrial design... The use of many materials in a single product while not making it look busy seems to not be used anymore. There's an obsession with limiting the number of materials you use in a product nowadays. Good in some cases, but really boring in others.

-Sony MDR-V6 headphones
-Traditional Thinkpad
-Lenovo Yoga
-Sony Vaio Z series
-11" MacBook Air
-Fourth generation iPod
-Nokia Lumia 920
-Traditional Ray-Bans

Those are just a few cases of industrial design that I like.

The Vizios I thought looked amazing when I first saw them on Engadget. Then I saw the Vizio products at Best Buy and was less than amazed by their build quality.
