how about adding a little description of what the app is too.

apple store (for making purchases in store w/o seeing anyone)
scorecenter (checking sports)
facebook (obvious)
fandango (movies, paired w/ passbook)
remote (controlling appletv/mac)
chase (banking)
waze (navigation until maps is more accurate, YMMV)

those are the ones I use daily.

iTunes? No thanks. I went the two years of having my iPhone 4 without ever tapping on it. Don't think I'll need it for my 5.

You have to have iTunes; it's preloaded, so you don't have a choice. You may not buy music from it, but short of enabling restrictions just to hide it, you have to have it b/c it's stock.

Reeder - my go to News app (its not free but worth it. I recommend Flipboard if you want Free)

Radio.com (Free) - lets me listen to my home town sports radio no matter where I am, house, garage etc.

Droplr (Free) - transfers my screenshots & pictures to a web format allowing me to quick link them to emails, posts etc.

Verbs (Pro Version but the best one IMO & worth it) - my go to Gchat iPhone app (it looks very polished & visually fits in with the other iOS apps)

Waze (Free) - nav app even before the new native Maps app

Yelp (Free) - for restaurants

iTV (Free) - currently my most favorite app. It gives you a guide to your local cable account. It lets you pick your favorite shows & set alerts for when they are coming on.

Yeah, I think you missed the joke. He was listing "must have" apps. As in, you must have those on your phone because Apple does not give you a choice.

----------

Phone
SMS/MMS/iMessage
Safari
Maps
Mail
iTunes
Photos
Weather

You forgot Stocks, Newstand, Passbook, Game Center, Camera, Contacts, Settings, Reminders, App Store, Calculator, Music, Video, and Calendar.

Yeah, you misunderstand vernacular. I'll clarify for the not so bright of you:

Must download apps

Hi,

I think these are the must have apps for iPhone5

Worldictionary
AngryBirds
Doodle Jump
WiFi Photo Transfer
Words With Friends
AppShopper
DocumentsToGo
TuneInRadio
Camera+

Not previously mentioned...

any of the below for weather:
Weatherchannel
Accuweather
Weatherbug

VOIP:
Viber

Gas
Gasbuddy (mobile webversion-bookmarked) for gas prices and logging of your favorite stations- Gasbuddy hates Apple so they're native app is very limited compared to their Android version which is fantastic. I would encourage all to get on their site (forum section) and give them a hard time about their bias. http://www.gasbuddy.com/Forum_MSG.aspx?master=1&category=1055&topic=515172&page_no=1&FAV=N

New Apps Recomendations

There are cool apps at a new website that posts new apps and news: Blynkster.

I found these apps there at their top apps page:

  • Songify
  • Action Movie
  • Vintagio
  • Autorap
  • SkyView Free
