Hi!

A week ago, my macbook air notebook was sent in for repair and the battery and fan was replaced. Yesterday, I noticed that when the notebook was left idle at a webpage, it shut down and I had to press the power button for at least 10 to 15 seconds for it to turn on again. When the notebook turned on, the website came up again. Today, the notebook would not turn on at all until I connected it to an electrical outlet. I also want to add that so far, it has taken four hours for the notebook to go from 43 % to 54 % as far as recharging goes.

I had spoken to several apple tech support specialists and was told it might be a logic board issue.

Could it be the logic board or perhaps the power supply part in the notebook? I appreciate any feedback/comments on this issue! Thanks! :)

Have you attempted to do an SMC Reset on the device?

Here is a great Apple kBase about Resetting the SMC:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Also did you try resetting the PRAM?

If you still have issues I would say to bring into your local Genius Bar or Authorized Service Provider.

Just an update on my situation: I spoke to an Apple senior tech advisor and I told her that my notebook was recharging for 21 hours. At first, I thought that the notebook was fully charged (as power cord showed green light) but when I turned on the notebook, it showed 73 % battery capacity. So basically in 21 hours, the notebook went from 43 % to 73 % battery capacity.

The senior tech advisor told me to run the battery down to one or two percent, then recharge it but keep the notebook turned on and see how long it takes to recharge battery. She said if the battery is still recharging very slowly, when she calls me back tomorrow, mostly likely it is the logic that needs to be replaced.
