Best way to get music from old mac to new mac

Either home sharing or using the migration tool with the Macbook in Target disk mode (assuming you can with the model you have).
I think home sharing is the easiest option. From your Mac Mini, connect to the Macbooks library (once home sharing is enabled) and on the drop down menu (Show
select 'Items not in my library' highlight then import.
It works for me as I usually import via my Macbook (cos my Mini doesn't have a superdrive), what you import is up to you as you select what you want.
