AVPlayerHD (currently unavailable for new purchase) still works fine but is still 960x640. Same goes for GoodPlayer.

I'm currently demuxing mkvs to mp4s (using Subler) and using the default player but I'd rather use a third party app.
 
Try RushPlayer HD. It's quite a good app w/ good features. With the iPhone 5 widescreen support now, it's a leg up on the others.
