Thats right, I bought a 1st gen iPad, enjoyed it for a couple weeks, stopped using it, and sold it, and I did that with the 2nd gen, and the 3rd gen.
The iPod Touch I always have. Once I sold mine after buying the iPad, then I realized how much I missed it, and bought one soon after.
While the iPad is definitely a good device, I guess i'm not a tablet fan.
The iPod Touch is just more inviting to use because of its size and weight. When I am lying down, I can pick it up and hold it in front of my face with one hand easy. With the iPad, I gotta lean it against something.
The iPod Touch can be with me wherever I go. The iPad almost never left the house. I was too worried about it getting damaged or stolen, and I didnt want to lug it around in a case.
Before the 3rd gen iPad, the iPod Touch had the retina display before the iPad did.
I guess the iPod Touch, and my iMac has all the bases covered.
