Hopefully you saved the multiple dock adapters that came with the dock.

Use the one for the iPod Nano. This holds the 30 pin to lightning adapter FIRMLY in place, to the point that it can hold the iPhone 5 up securely even without any back support. On top of that, it adds enough friction so that you can undock the phone from the adapter without taking the whole adapter with it.

Try it! My iHome has gone from a fiddly mess to being usable again! :)

^Thanks for the tip. We just bought an adapter and that has been the complaint with the adapter and our Sony clock radios- I'll try to find the adapter and see how things work.

i remember Apple released a new Universal dock like last year i think...i don't have that, i have the one which was released before that...

which adapter i should use? or it's still the same adapters?

This is great. Just put the insert into a Sony clock radio dock and it makes the lighting to 30 pin adapter much more stable.

I am about to try it for with the Apple Universal Dock, but I will still try to add some back support.
