Today I received a replacement iPhone with iOS 5.1.1. I requested the replacement under Apple Care because I was not satisfied with iOS6 (mainly maps).

So, now I am trying to restore my phone, however I am not able to because my backup is from iOS 6. When I connect the new phone (which has iOS 5.1.1) it asks me if I'd like to restore it. It only shows me two choices to choose for the restore. One is from today and one is from last week. However I normally sync at least twice per day.

My question is therefore, would there be a backup anywhere on my computer (a MacBook Air) prior to my upgrading to iOS 6? I upgraded to iOS6 the day after it was released. Or when the iPhone is synced to iTunes and the backup created, does each backup overwrite the next?

Thanks very much in advance for any help you might be able to provide me.
