iPod stuck trying to restore ipod

Hi,

I have an 80GB ipod that I'm trying to restore. I hold down menu and home button until the apple logo appears. iTunes states that it needs to prepare ipod for recovery. and on the ipod screen I get a message that says 'do not disconnect' that flashes.

I've left this for over an hour, but nothing seems to be happpening

any ideas?

Maybe try restoring the backup manually through iTunes when its connected to your MAC? Worked for me a few months ago and given me loads of extra time with my IPod! I too thought it was totally lost when I got the same error message you did :cool:
