itunes is crapping out on me...help

Pursuant to this problem I inquired after a few days ago, the problem seems to have spread. Now it's affecting my iTunes. I can't play a song for more than 5 or 10 seconds before it starts skipping, halting, or whatever you want to call it. Help. SOS. Mayday. I'm ready to scream.

Im having the same problem. I have an ibook g4, maybe 2 months old at most. It skips at about 6 seconds, then it plays the rest of the song. But for ever song it plays..it skips in the beginning.

Open up Activity Monitor and see if there's a process that's using up a lot of resources (CPU and/or RAM). 🙂

Tried checking Activity Monitor, nothing was even running except for I-Tunes. And it is still skipping.

Is that under All Processes or just the Default My Processes (check the list at the top)? 🙂

have you got the latest updates?

if no, install the latest updates.

take a cd, place it in your mac. play a certain song. see if iTunes plays the song perfectly.

rip this certain song to iTunes. play the song again. does it skip now?
