Too bad it's ~183 grams. May not seem like much, but once you get used to a much lighter phone, it does make a difference. And it's quite bulky with an unnecessary amount of bezel.

How's the OS? Did you use WP7, and if so, how does it compare?

183 grams? You have problems holding that? Time to hit the gym!

Kids these days, my first Palm weighed about 2-3 times more than the vast majority of smartphones today, so didmy pocket pc.

Yet....my handed never fell off.

Yup. I'm now convinced that at least half of Macrumors posters are a bunch of 80 year old grandmas suffering from the palsy posting about their phones in their spare time.

IT'S A THIRD OF A POUND, PEOPLE! GOOD GOD! I've seen two year old girls with more forearm strength than some of you people.

Because apple told them a thinner lighter iPhone is what we need, now a few grams or a couple of mm is hard to fathom. An extra 1/2 inch letterbox screen in a wafer is where it's at.

Aren't all 920 WP8?

I am more interested in, can it install WP7 apps?

Does WP8 has a screen shot function? (WP7 doesn't) What is the version of Nokia Drive? 3.0?

I don't care what the other people are saying I agree I think that's too heavy for a phone these days. You can call me whatever you want but after using and enjoying lighter phones you will definitely be able to tell the difference when you switch to a phone that's 40+ grams heavier.

Yes all 920 are WP8.
All WP7 apps will run on WP8.
WP8 can take screenshots.

sorry guys can't post pictures until after work, i run my own business and hours are long so theyll be up after 11pm. Im in canada for the doubters, it got launched today in very limited supply i was fortunate enough to track one down. I have not used windows phone 7 prior to this but i do find the OS pretty fresh and beautiful. App selection is kind of a bummer, and using xbox music is kinda of difficult, i would like to stream music instead of downloading everything so if someone can answer that one for me that would be great. Its heavier than than a gs3 and an iphone 5 but really we are talking about grams here not a big difference i actually like the heft and makes it feel premium.

If you guys have any questions hopefully i can answer them all after 11pm eastern. I've had an iphone 5 and galaxy s3 prior to this so i can relate to anyone thinking about making the switch

Y'all are ridiculous. Of course it's not literally heavy as a dumbbell. I'm not a kid or a grandma, nice try though. When you are USED to something LIGHT, and you switch to something COMPARATIVELY heavy, then it is quite annoying. And what about the absurd amount of bezel? The phone is way bigger than it needs to be, which was the case with the Lumia 900 as well. I know it has to be a little thick for the camera, but the tallness, wideness, and amount of bezel seems like poor design.

Does that difference even bother you? I literally couldn't care less from that small of a weight different, it doesn't affect how I use it. Its such a tiny amount of weight. That its pretty meaningless.

then it is quite annoying.

The phone is way bigger than it needs to be,

People said that about the Galaxy Note, Samsung sold almost 10 million of em.

Your entitled to your opinion, I personally don't think its poor, I think its well thought out, and quirky, like Windows Phone OS is in general.

I used an HTC Vivid and noticed the weight difference and it was even lighter than the Lumia. Some notice it and some don't I guess. I wish I had enough time and energy for the gym, a workout partner would help. I would never consider the Note because of it's size.
Also, the gym wouldn't do much for my wrist strength lol, and I'm by no means weak or terribly out of shape. From the pics that were just posted, the bottom of the phone just puzzles me.. that extra piece of room just seems out of place and ugly to me. I'd be much more interested in getting the phone if it weren't for the size of it in general.

Honestly the weight of the phone is not an issue. Yes its heavier than other phones but the weight isnt substantial at all. The phone fits perfectly in the hand, everything is really easy to use one handed. Nokia designed the phone this way, as the curved back fits perfectly in the hand when you grasp it. When your grab any phone your hand isnt flat as the shape of some phones, your hand forms a grasp on the phone that is curved.

I think windows may have the best keyboard of all platforms the, i love the flow functionality of it, very accurate and fast also far from intrusive like some keyboards with their predictive text.

It's light enough that you should be able to get used to the minor difference if the rest of it offers a compelling upgrade over what you own.

That I agree with but there might be alternatives that are also upgrades to what he owns but lighter.

My girlfriend carries an HTC Amaze which I bought her. All 5' 105 lbs of her. She likes it a lot but I don't quite know if she is biased (do I need a smiley here?). That said, and I knew about this coming in with this phone, I really am quite surprised that this phone is heavier than the Amaze (173 grams). The HTC Amaze received rave reviews about its build quality but a constant knock, wrong or right, was its weight. And this was 1 year ago.

I have an iPhone 4 and had no interest in the 4S and not much more in the 5.

The only other choice for me (as I am interested in WP8) is the HTC Phone 8X (I have better taste than is offered by the Samsung ativ S). The HTC seems once again to have sacrificed a larger battery for slimness and seems to have an inferior camera to the iPhone 5.

I fancy I will buy one of these but I do believe that neither of these are halo phones which will resurrect the fortunes of their companies.

Citibank is on WP7 but not 8. As much as the 920 has really caught my eye, it feels like going way the hell back in terms of usability. My understanding is multitasking and notifications are a wreck on windows phone.
