Hi all.
My last topic was too old so i make a last topic for suggest about my buy for family videoediting (Finalcut) and pro photoediting (Cs6/lightroom) .

I have my dell 27" pro display and next week i will boy new hardware for it :
AMD 8350
GIGABYTE MOTHERBOARD 16GB RAM
new case
2TB hdd
= 600-700€

I will recycle one ssd ,Windows 8 and RADEON HD5870 1GB ram .

Now first to make this choice i saw new apple Imac but for similar budget i found only mac mini top
Mac mini a 2,3GHz
Intel Core i7 quad-core a 2,3GHz
4GB di memoria
Disco rigido da 1TB1
Intel HD Graphics 4000
OS X Mountain Lion

+16gb ram and change HDD with my ssd

SO the question: Can mac mini give me same bench of AMD configuration?

I cannot even see how you can compare an AMD 8350 with the intel 3615qm, and the 5870 against the HD 4000

No of course the 8350 - 5870 choise is much superior

I made this comparison because a friend told me that apple computers are more powerful also with poor hardware .

What you need to realize is that there is a pretty substantial difference in how the OS will function on each platform. Things like games make a big difference because they eat right into things like video memory and speed. But take regular use and my dual core mini performs much of my day to day stuff faster than my PC that has a quad core and dedicated video card.

infact my question is about the performance between windows 8 and top hardware vs OS e low hardware.ò:)

I see important that if i make a video and for rendering the amd take 5 minutes , i want know if mac mini render the same video at 5 minute or less .
