Hello All,

First time poster here. I just went through the arduous process of getting an external HDD set up on a DD-WRT router with the intention of creating a backup drive without going to a time capsule. Why didn't I want to go with a time Capsule? I don't know, probably should have looking back, but this is the path I committed to and I am pretty far down it at this point.

The last piece I need is a way to backup my MacBook to the drive. So far, I have read this was pretty easy with a samba share and snow leopard, but that lion doesn't allow for this, as far as time machine goes anyway.

I looked into the backup software "SuperDuper" and am thinking about buying the pro version of that, but before I dropped the extra coin I was wondering if there was a way to get it done in Lion that anyway had heard of.

Thanks for any thoughts / suggestions!
