Etsy has some but I'm wondering if anyone has a solution in-hand they can recommend.

I generally like the Joli sleeves for mac products:

http://shop.jolioriginals.com/

I don't know if it's on their web site yet, but I'm sure they'll be producing sleeves for the mini.

Yeah, they're gorgeous. Pricey, but very nice. They probably do pre orders by email. I've got one for my Air, and I'm very happy with it.

I found the black BUILT neoprene sleeve for Kindle Fire at Toys R Us for $4.75 on Saturday. Fits the mini perfectly, just tight enough. It wouldn't fit with a case on it though.

It's this one:

I actually remembered that i had a sleeve that came with my sony PRS-950 when I bought it from craigslist.. it wasn't a bundled item as it was clearly too wide and too long for the skinny 7" PRS-950, and I thought it just might fit. I don't know what it's for but it seems to have a Sony/Vaio-type label on it.

http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y442/sea_jewel/photo.jpg

It's still too long for the mini but the width is just about right. I should be able to get it in even with the Smart cover that was delivered today at home. Perfect, don't have to spend anything and good lightweight protection while out and about!

it looks nice at first but here's the problem with it. The leather grip implies that it is to be held mainly in the horizontal position but that way leaves the opening exposed at the end and you risk your mini just sliding out as you walk along. If you are going to carry it horizontally positioned and that would be the natural way to do so then it needs to open from the top not the side.

Do you know how well it would fit with a smart cover?

Anyone know of a sleeve that is not open on one end but also doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I can't be the only one that thinks $50 for a sleeve the size of the mini is way too steep. Around the house I'll just use the mini with the smart cover, but I would like something to keep it in when I have it in a laptop bag. Something that either zips shut or has a flap would be fine.

I'd be super tight with a Smart Cover, maybe too tight. I'm with ya about the prices of some accessories, it's nuts.

This one doesn't close or zipper so there is that but it's a great wait and see stopgap until there are some better thought out cases.

I really love my sleeve. I was trying to google it to try to find information for you guys but no go. I'm not sure what it was made for, but it's light, provides padding, and is zippered all the way (with cushioned zippers so it won't come in contact with the device). Pictured above. It's not the Sony PRS-950 zipper sleeve which I found online, but I'm fairly sure that will be too narrow.

http://www.amazon.com/Navitechs-Resistant-Neoprene-Protection-Including/dp/B008U7H5A8/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1352222455&sr=8-30&keywords=zipper+sleeve+e+reader

Maybe this will fit! It is only $9 and free shipping and is supposed to fit a variety of 7" devices (although most are usually a narrower aspect ratio) so it might be worth looking into.

I got the Dodocase Durables today, and while its very nice, the mini fits too loosely. I'm afraid it will fall out sometime if I'm not paying attention. If you hold it by the leather part you can pinch the mini to keep it from falling out, but otherwise no way is it snugg enough to not fall out. It's too bad because I love the sleeve, it looks nice and you can tell its great quality. I wish I had a way to keep the ipad in without making the case look bad or be difficult to use.

I can see this sentiment for any kind of hardware accessories. But for a sleeve or a case?

I'm just curious. I promise i'm not trying to argue with you about your opinion.

Some people gotta have that logo I guess. Lets be honest, when it comes to the iPad accessories, Apple's attempts have been very lackluster. I would rather they not make any case/sleeve and focus on the iPad itself.

As for the topic, If I were getting a sleeve i'd probably go with the Tom Bihn Cache for iPad mini.

Haha.. I have a friend who's like that. She has an iPad and an iPhone and will only buy cases that allow the Apple logo to show.

Her iPad is from the school she teaches at and they gave them iPad 1 cases for their iPad 2's.. so being nice, I decided to buy her a case.. and I had to try to find one that shows the Apple logo and it was maddening.

Maybe some think that because it's made by the same company that manufactures the device, it will be a perfect fit.

However, some don't understand that Apple does release device dimensions to manufacturers.

I received the Saddleback medium gadget sleeve yesterday. The mini fits perfect without the smart cover. It's a little tight with the smart cover but the leather will stretch. I left the mini in the sleeve overnight and already noticed it is easier to use today with the smart cover.

One thing is for sure, the mini will be protected and this sleeve is built to last. Excellent value for the money.

Now that I stretched the leather by using the smart cover, the mini slips under garvity without the smart cover. However, I recall that the mini without the smart cover was fairly snug when the sleeve was brand new. I did not test slipping without the cover when new so it's hard to say. You may be ok if you don't stretch the leather.

I bought one that looked exactly like this when I got my first iPad, used it for my 2 and 3 also. So I sought out the same exact design for my Mini. Only found it for the Nexus 7 but it fits just fine. Even with a smart cover on. BUT it's a tight/sticky fit with the Smart Cover attached because of the slightly tacky nature of the cover material.

Does the iPad hit the zipper at all inside the case? How are the pouches for cables and storage?

Size: It's a perfect fit so there is zero movement in the case. If I stand my i5 up in the front pocket the zipper cuts right through the numbers on the time.

F/F: I really like the fake swade look and feel. I can't speak to durability but I have never had issues with Casecrown so I imagine this will hold up as well. The padding is enough IMHO. If I push on the side when the mini is in there it has a good amount of "give". The tabs for the zipper are large, a bit large for me but not offensive. They are slightly curved which makes them easy to grasp.

Price: Picked it up off the Bay for $14 with free shipping.

I really dig the case and am so glad I ditched the smart cover. I hated that thing!

I had a sleeve that I used for the Kindle Keyboard (generation 2) that fits the ipad mini like a glove.....sans "Smart Cover"! It's got a nice felt interior and won't scratch the iPad. I don't know if they are still available or not. Here is a link to it on Amazon. I plan on using it when I travel till Incipio makes a Smart Feather back cover for the mini. The Smart Cover & Smart Feather back combo was perfect on the iPad 2.

That sleeve would work out real well and I'd just slip the Mini into the carry case I bought. It doesn't look like they are in stock though at Amazon.

Yea, it really does work well. It provides good "hard shell" protection when stuffing the mini in my laptop bag. The reason it works so well is the dimensions on the mini are almost identical with the Kindle 2. The mini's dimensions are just a "hair" smaller all around. So the mini slips in & out of the case easily while still providing a snug (not tight) fit. I'm glad I hung onto the Kindle case.

Thanks for photos, looks good. Last question, does the front pocket stretch to hold the cable and charger? Hoping that it would not be too tight where it's pushing back onto the screen. Guess you can make sure the mini is in with the screen facing the back but would be great if it fix well together.

Plenty of give in the pocket so no worries there.

The small one is a perfect fit for a naked mini. I ordered one and the fit is like its made for it. I wish it was bigger so I could put my mini with the Smart Cover and a back cover, but only a naked mini will fit.

Care to post a pic? How's the opening for the charger at the bottom? Sounds great if it's a perfect fit.

I'm guessing you meant the medium size one as the small is sized for an iPhone. Love to hear it's a good fit for the naked mini as that's how I prefer to use it--ordered one a couple of days ago and looking forward to using it.

I've purchased the Hard Graft iPad mini sleeve:

Image (http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0075/8682/products/tab-ipadminicase-feat_1024x1024.jpg?1211)

which also functions as a stand:

Nice sleeve and functions as a stand, sweet! I always loved the look of handgraft products but find them a tad too expensive.

Did not like it at first, but the fit is excellent and its growing on me. The sleep function works perfectly.

Just received this leather sleeve (medium size) in black and could not be happier. Very sturdy--leather is thicker than I expected, and fits my naked mini perfectly. It's not too tight but snug enough to keep the mini in place even if held upside down. Quality overall is very good.

And before someone asks, I don't own a smart cover (and don't plan to) so I'm sorry but I can't test to see if it fits with the cover on.

If anyone is interested in pics let me know and I'll try to get some up tomorrow.

Of all the sleeves I've tried, nothing is as nice as Sena Ultraslim.

I have matching ones for my smartphones & iPads.

On the topic of sleeves etc, I bought one of these amazing handcrafted leather briefcases, some time ago. It's a masterpiece of craftsmanship & quality. It's literally flown all over the world with me.

I generally like the Joli sleeves for mac products:
http://shop.jolioriginals.com/

Same here, I just got my iPad mini and the sleeve in this morning, great timing. The iPad mini is a brilliant thing, I think I'm going to use it a lot more than I've used my iPad2 the last year. And the sleeve is awesome too :)

I just received my Kajav Berlin case (http://kavaj.com/ipad-mini-case-berlin-black/) and am really impressed. The leather is super soft and it has magnets in for holding the case closed and activating the auto-sleep/wake sensors. The front panel folds back similar to how the first Apple case for the iPad original did to give it a nice resting angle for typing and a standing up position for watching movies etc. The leather is going to take a little bit of working to ensure the iPad mini stands up for movie viewing safely as it currently wants to fall backwards a little too easily but that's just because the leather is so new I think and it'll soon sort itself out.

Sorry for the really poor exposure, I quickly shot the photos on my iPhone and didn't notice the massive exposure overcompensation at the time. If anyone wants more/different/better photos then just give me a shout.

I found the following slip case and really like it. I'm currently using an iPad 3 with a black leather SmartCover and DodoCase Bookback. I really like the combo, but I'm wanting to move to the iPad Mini once it goes Retina. Love the contrast baseball stitching.

http://www.etsy.com/listing/105166926/samsung-galaxy-tab-101-leather-sleeve

The only thing I asked for that's different (since these are handmade) was to have a top edge like the following rather than a notched one like in the first link:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/109983706/samsung-galaxy-s3-leather-case-free

I'm going to grab one of these and hang on to it for when I move to the Mini. I'm a med student and the appeal of having an iPad small enough to fit in my white coat pocket is my motivation.

PS - the person who runs the Etsy store doesn't have the iPad Mini size in right now, but says to expect them very soon. (Thus the reason I linked to the Galaxy versions.)

I actually use the pouch I got with my P5 headphones. I think you can get it for like 25 euro's.
It fits perfectly, also with a case around it, and it even has a little extra compartment to put accessories in.

I picked up this STM case from B and H Photo in NYC, adds almost no weight to the Mini, but does snap onto it, so it is hard to remove.
