Hey all -
I've been trying to find a good external hard drive enclosure that holds a desktop hard drive w/firewire. Rosewill makes two good ones, but they are out of stock on newegg, here are the links:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817173004
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817173003
I want to go with an internal desktop hard drive because they are cheaper than 2.5", but would like firewire. Can anyone help me out? Much appreciated!

I've had good luck with Mercury enclosures from Other World Computing:

I got this one for a 3.5" drive I salvaged from a dead iMac.

In retrospect, it probably would have been smarter to get the firewire + USB 2.0 version (MEFW911UPL), but, hey - that was $5 more.
Whatever you get, make sure it has an Oxford chipset. Some of the cheaper enclosures you can find have Brand X chipsets, which seem to be a source of problems.

haha @ the $5 comment. Yeah, I was wondering if all the oxford chipsets were good (911, 922, and another one?) which I'm assuming they are. I may go for the FW 800 because I know I would love to take advantage of that one day when I have FW 800. Hey, you've been a great help, I appreciate it.
