hello everyone,
i am not yet a Mac user but i need ur advice as am thinking of buying one
in general, i am look for a "laptop" with 3 main specs:
1- 13.3" screen
2- light [as i take it everyday to the university and travel a lot]
3- performance [8GB, and i7]

i am a computer science student [so performance is very important for me]
and i wanna buy a laptop for like the next 3 years

so my question is:
MB air with 8GB, i7 and 256GB SSD for $1700
MB air with 8GB, i5 and 128GB SSD for $1300

so do u think the difference between i5 and i7 is worth $400?
[for me the hard drive is not a big deal, i can just get 1TB external HD]
or have u ever found a MB air with 8GB, i7 and "128GB" SSD? i think it might be much better

There are no i7 MBA with 128GB SSD. If you want the i7 you need to the take the full spec model with 256GB SSD.

I would have paid happily the upgrade for the i7 if I wouldn't have to pay for the 256GB SSD.

You can make a Mac last 5 years in fact. I would go for the upgraded version since you're doing computer science.
