Hello,

I'm looking to buy my first iBook, but I have to purchase with a company check. The online store won't take them, apple said maybe a retail store might. Does anybody have any advice or help on this?

Thanks.

I would guess that most resellers would take a company check. Why not just call around to some local stores and ask? CompUSA sells Macs, and most cities have specialized independent Mac resellers.

Your company can wire funds through their bank directly to Apple's designated account. This is the best way for your company to retain a record of the transaction.

Otherwise, you can have the company draft a check to cover a cashiers check
from your account for $5-$12.

If you go to a reseller like CompUSA, be very careful about model numbers.
In MANY cases they will promote older versions without fully
explaining that there is also the newer version available.

Make sure the specificatons match what is available directly through Apple.

CDW will take checks, but they sometimes will hold the order for about a week.

Thanks everyone. I called and talked to the manager at the store in Orlando. He was nice and said he would do it for me. Hopefully I will have my iBook by next week.

Are you guys talking about cheques?

Yeah, the first guy makes a mistake, and the rest of them don't even notice it. *shakes head*

Places that will accept a company cheque = Quite a few, probably.

Places that will accept a personal cheque = Only the most gullible. :p
