Just got an iPad mini. Never had an iPhone or iPad before, so I don't know much about the operating system.

Is there some way that I can transfer photos from my iPad to my mac without uploading to the internet? I have a limited data plan for my internet, so I don't want to waste data moving photos around.

Thanks

Connect the iPad to the Mac. Assuming you have iTunes on the Mac (and have previously set it up to know your iPad), Image Capture will immediately be displayed. From there, just drag and drop the images to your Mac.
