Along the lines of "what's your iTunes x" posts, what is the longest single song you have in your library? Not including environmental (30:02) and mixtape (30:00) tracks, my longest is:

Fantasia On A Theme of Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaughan Williams - 18:15

Perhaps this will be a good place to pick up some good classical/symphony track suggestions :D

longest song is by Dream Theater, Disc two of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, song is the same name ~42 minutes.

second longest song is Octavariam by Dream Theater coming in at 24 minutes

awesome band btw.

For actual music tracks, it looks like "Close To The Edge" from Yessongs wins at 18:14 here.

My longest track is the Old Testament (no idea how that got in here) by God which is 49:42:15 long.

I've got quite a few mixes that are two hours long too - DJ Tiesto being the biggest culprit.

It's really too hard to tell the difference between mixes and songs. They range from about nine hours down to thirty seconds. Most of the long stuff is either dance or classical.

Thirty Pieces for String Quartet- John Cage (30:23)

And i guess these next two count as they originally had to be split to fit on a LP.
Silver Apples of the Moon- Part A- Morton Subotnick (16:40)
Silver Apples of the Moon- Part B- Morton Subotnick (14:59)
and
The Wild Bull- Part A- Morton Subotnick (13:08)
The Wild Bull- Part B- Morton Subotnick (15:01)

Other than audio books and radio shows my longest song is "Symphony No. 3 in D Minor - Mvt. 1" by Gustav Mahler 34:54

all my pink floyd albums are ripped as single tracks  except for the wall, so those are really long. the longest seems to be "pulse." but my longest real song is "whipping post" by the allman brothers from "at filmore east" which comes in at 23:04. i also have some audio tracks from internet radio which are like 3 hours but those *really* don't count :p

Well... excluding symphonies, interviews, olde time radio-plays and whatnot... my Top 5 are:

1. A Long Day - The Polyphonic Spree (36:30)
2. Instrumental - John White (23:09)
3. Night Falls On Hoboken - Yo La Tengo (17:42)
4. Sister Ray - The Velvet Underground (17:31)
5. Less Than You Think - Wilco (15:04)

Unfortunately, due to my short attention span, I find it pretty painful to listen to songs that are longer than 2:30

I don't know where this track came from but I have "Part 1 Winter 2000" by Bad Boy Bill, it's 4:43:06. If I don't include Audiobooks or techno music, it's "Slide Show" by Travis at 18:31, though that shouldn't really count cause it has a couple of minutes of silence, so it would then be "Piano Concerto No. 26 in D Major" by Mozart at 13:37. And if I don't include classical music, then it's "Down Once More...Track Down This Murderer" from The Phantom of the Opera at 13:34.

My longest song (12:55) in iTunes would be #36
from the Dave Matthews Band.

Although, I do have a song on a CD that lasts about 25 minutes (but its not on my Power Mac's HDD so it does not count).

I don't know whether this counts because it's not a song, but my longest track is the Ending Theme from Final Fantasy VIII, 13:20. Also have Albuquerque by Weird Al Yankovic, it's 11:20, but it's more of a screamfest than a song :p

Longest real song is Porcelina of the Vast Oceans by Smashing Pumpkins, 9:21.

I'm feeling mighty funky, kinda fine..

I haven't completely moved over all my music from my PB, but right now my longest song is;

"That Was a Crazy Game of Poker" by "Of A Revolution"

It's 20:43 in duration and it's from a live show of theirs at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA.

Found a winner on the PB, "Dazed and Confused" by "Led Zepplin", 25:25 in duration from "How The West Was Won (Disc 2)"
