iPod Playlist folders - ever to come to older iPods?

I see the nice feature in iTunes 5 where you can arrange your playlists into folders. It would be great if my clickwheel 4th generation iPod could make its playlists arrange in menus and submenus according to the folders in iTunes. I have version 3.1 of the iPod Update, and it still doesn't seem to do it. Any idea if Apple is working on making it happen on older iPods? I hear the Nano has it, but the capacity of the Nano is not great enough for my 16 GB music collection.
