Can anyone tell me what this adapter is?

It looks like DP or HDMI, but the photo is quite blurry.

But on another look, it seems to be the MicroDVI port used in the original MBAs.

I updated my post, and HDMI (2003) is older than DisplayPort (2006).

That can be remedied by not holding it that close, since the lens in there is not a really good on with close objects. If you want to have a focused object, you should at least keep 30 to 50 cm distance to the lens.

Looks to me to be a MicroDVI --> VGA adapter. MicroDVI is the video-out connector used by the original MacBook Air.
