Does anyone know anyway of getting screenshots off DVD player on Mac OSX 10.3?

need to use a screen capture utility besides the SHIFT-COMMAND-3, try download.com for some freewares.

Snap N Drag has worked well for me in the past, though the last time I used it was with Panther.

What is the command to take a picture of just the window without having to use cmd + shift +4. I forgot, this comes in handy sometimes.

from the terminal you can use screencapture. type man screenscapture for more info.

you could also use grab and vlc.

There is a widget called Capture that circumvents the protection. You just switch to Dashboard, select what type of capture you want, and then close Dashboard and capture your shot.
